The British designer, who was born in Iraq, died from a heart attack in the early hours of Thursday morning while in hospital in Miami, where she was being treated for bronchitis.
Hadid was recently awarded the RIBA’s 2016 Royal Gold Medal, the first woman to be awarded the prestigious honour in her own right.
She also won the Stirling Prize twice, for the MAXXI Museum in Rome in 2010, and for Brixton’s Evelyn Grace Academy in 2011. In 2012, she was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire.
