The £1 billion masterplan for the new campus on the site of the former Western Infirmary is one of the biggest procurement projects in Britain.
Work to appoint a construction delivery partner is already underway with a winner due to be selected by early next year.
Faithful+Gould will oversee work on six major academic buildings forming a “smart campus”.
Paul Sherry of Faithful+Gould said: “This is a very exciting project and will be one of the most high profile higher education programmes in Britain over the next decade.
“It will also set the standard for the future development of universities with its multi-functional learning hubs rather than traditional lecture halls, and the way in which it will be able to interact with industry and the public as well as academics around the globe.”
The full client project team includes WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff as multi discipline engineering contractor and global architecture firm HLM.
