Lawrence Jackson has been appointed managing director of Hochtief (UK) Construction after former managing director Sally Cox stepped down after two years.

Jackson has worked at Hochtief for over 20 years and has an extensive track record delivering complex infrastructure projects in Europe, Africa and the Far East.

He takes over as managing director with immediate effect.

Jackson said: “I look forward to working with the Hochtief UK management team to build on the many successes of recent years and to continue delivering engineering excellence, innovation and value for our clients and the communities we jointly serve.

“Our focus will remain firmly on our current projects and the pursuit of new opportunities in line with our strategic growth plans, including bidding for the Silvertown Tunnel project for which we and our joint venture partners prequalified in March.

“With the iconic new Queensferry Crossing about to open in Scotland, the North Yorkshire Polyhalite Project commencing, numerous successful mid-sized projects and the backing of Hochtief Infrastructure, we have an extremely strong basis on which to build in the UK.”

Riku Tauriainen, MD of Europe West, Hochtief Infrastructure and Board member of the UK business, said: “We thank Sally for her valuable contributions to the company and wish her every success in the future.

“Having run the Hochtief South Africa branch and with considerable international infrastructure experience, Lawrence is extremely well placed to further build on Hochtief’s strong financial and technical position in the UK with the many opportunities ahead.”
