The firm has picked offsite MEP specialist GBE Services London as one of three building services contractors to assist with the prefabricated design on the complex construction project.
The deal is a major coup for £30m turnover GBE and ranks as the fast-growing firm’s most prestigious project to date.
A further two specialists are set to be appointed shortly to complete main contractor Lendlease’s line up for the innovative ‘MEP Solutions Team’.
They will work with Atelier 10 in designing the services with buildability and prefabrication in mind on the Google HQ, which has an overall M&E value thought to be worth up to £200m.
The offsite firm was established 15 years ago and set up the main direct M&E specialist package contract arm two years ago. It has been making major inroads into the London major project market, securing work on Bloomberg’s HQ and the Goldman Sachs building at 70 Farringdon Street.
GBEs fabrication facility operates in Rochester and they have their head office in central London.
Cormac Lewis, Operations Director, said: “Google and Lend Lease are leading the way in early contractor/design team integration.
“Collaborating with Google and Lend lease on this amazing project is a fantastic achievement for our business as well as a major success for the M&E industry and its approach to BIM, pre-construction and prefabrication.”
