The £38 building project will be located at the North Holmes Campus and already has planning permission and funding agreements in place. A suppliers day is now planned on 16 May ahead of a formal invitation to tender.
Known as the Building 2 project, 180,000 sq ft academic building will rise to three stories. Architect BDP’s designs include two academic wings that sit behind a shared central space called the Cloister.
The Cloister forms the main frontage to the four storey brick clad building complex, which will boats views over the city, towards the cathedral.
It is one of three planned building projects at the campus forming part of an £150m investment over the next 10 to 15 years.
