As managing director of Robertson Construction South business, he will strategically grow its reach in selected markets throughout England and Wales.
Brook will develop Robertson’s relationships, transforming business strategy to deliver ambitious profitable growth.
He said: “Robertson has made impressive strides in recent years despite the challenging market conditions.
He was one of two heavyweight directors to exit Kier in a boardroom shake-up five months ago, as former investment banker and corporate development director Claudio Veritiero, was promoted to the new role of chief operating officer.
Brook had spent 10 years at Kier rising from managing director of the northern business to head of constructi0n and infrastructure services.
His colleague Nigel Turner who enjoyed 21 years’ service at Kier, has also taken up a new senior role in construction.
Retirement homes specialist McCarthy & Stone appointed Turner as one of two chief operating officers.
He also took up the role at the start of New Year overseeing the group’s building operations.
