The expanding business, which has opened new offices in Birmingham, lifted pre-tax profit by 7% to £6.3m.
Chairman Richard Unwin said: “The outlook for 2019, although challenging, is looking positive. The order book continues to grow with a sound customer base.
“We continue to pursue a number of key infrastructure opportunities across core transportation and energy markets.
“Over the next few years HS2, new nuclear power and airport expansion at Heathrow and Gatwick will provide growth opportunities.”
He added that the strengths of Prater’s financial position with assets of £24m enabled the firm to take a longer term view to invest in the future.
The cladding firm continued to invest in staff, raising headcount by 9% to 422 staff.
Prater is owned by German envelope specialist Lindner Group.
