Specialist Notus Heavy Lift Solutions is launching a new division designed to offer safer lifting operations on sites.

The new Notus Contract Lifting business will deliver contract lifting, crane management and plant handling services to the industry.

It will offer a full package of engineering, lift planning and labour supervision alongside physical equipment.

Managing Director of Notus Contract Lifting, Scott Mitchell, has previously worked for Sarens UK, Southern Cranes and Arcomet.

He said “The world is changing, if you look at traditional businesses: Taxi Cabs, Hotels, Advertising, Retail, these industries are now being dominated by Uber, Airbnb, Google and Amazon respectively, none of which own their goods that make up their services, but are still able to offer a brilliant service and product that keeps the clients returning.

“We believe there are growing opportunities within the traditional crane hire/contract lifting, for a similar business model, with the number one focus on service to the end user, to create a full turnkey package.

“The emphasis will be on top quality engineering, lift planning and supervision, which ultimately will result in safer lifting operations on all of our jobs.”

Mitchell will be supported by the directors of Notus Heavy Lift, James Mohammed and Wesley Walberg, along with Adam Thomas, as Senior Technical Manager who has previously held similar positions at Radius, Osprey Heavy Lift and Baldwins Heavy Cranes.

Notus has a head office in Liverpool and operates UK wide from a regional office in Sittingbourne and project offices in Cannington (Hinckley Point C) and Euston, London (HS2) along with New York (USA) and Oman (Middle East).
