The new strategic link road to the north of Luton will run from the A6 Barton Road to junction 11a of the motorway
It will include building a new section of dual and single lane carriageway and a bridge over the railway mainline into London.
There will be junctions to a proposed new Rail Freight Interchange at Sundon and to proposed new housing developments.

Subject to planning permission and funding, construction will commence in March 2020 on the two-year project.
Prequalification documents are available from the council’s procurement site.
