The council plans to invite firms to take part in a single-stage tender to design and build a leisure centre and library at the Carnival Pool site.

Outline planning consent is already in place and demolition of the existing facilities will be undertaken during Spring/Summer 2020.

The proposed Carnival scheme will include a 11,000 sq ft library, six-lane 25 swimming and teaching pools as well as a gym.

Interested firms have until 4 November to prequalify with shortlisted firms invited to submit tenders on the 18 November.
