City councillors are expected this week to rubberstamp the project award for the new footbridge across the M8 to connect the £250m Sighthill scheme with the city centre.
The new green bridge with planted with shrubbery to the sides of the main deck will take 79 weeks to build and is expected to complete in late summer 2021.
An existing footbridge will be demolished next month before work can start on the new 58m bridge which will vary in width between 20m – 7.5m.
