Workers have contacted the Enquirer over their concerns and shared pictures on social media this morning of crowded sites.
Social distancing measures are being taken on some sites to halt the spread of the coronavirus.
But on others canteens are still crowded and briefings are being held in small rooms.
One worker said: “I’ve spent the weekend being told about the importance of social distancing then arrived on site and found the canteen full.
“We all had to queue together as normal to get on the job using fingerprint entry systems which aren’t wiped down in between people.”
Another worker on a major London job said: “Office staff have been instructed to work from home, while the front line workforce continue.
“We were promised a nurse on site from Friday to check temperatures who never showed up and they sent the labouring team to perform a deep clean while we are still having morning safety briefings in a canteen where 120 cram into a small space.”
