The brick maker was one of the first construction materials producers to signal a suspension of production three weeks ago.

During the period of suspension, Michelmersh has carried out an extensive health and safety review. To keep staff as safe as possible, its has realigned operations to meet and exceed government guidelines.

This week it said it would begin an orderly and safe recommencement of production across its plants.

Martin Warner, Chairman of Michelmersh Brick said that group’s plants were highly efficient and would be able to quickly return to normal levels of production once restrictions are lifted.

The board said it would continue to monitor the situation and government advice closely.
