Plans are now being finalised to develop the former shipbuilding dock into 850 market sale alongside a primary school, cafes and shops and a sustainable transport hub.
A key focus of the scheme is converting the neglected Blackwall Yard Graving Dock into an outdoor swimming pool.
Hadley will reveal details of its masterplan for the site during a series of digital consultation events next month.
The design team comprises Glenn Howells Architects, White Arkitekter and Panter Hudspith.
Andy Portlock, Chief Executive Officer at Hadley Property Group, said: “Blackwall Yard is one of the last great regeneration sites along the Thames, and the completion of this acquisition, particularly in the current climate, provides a significant opportunity for Hadley.
“Now our largest scheme, Blackwall Yard demonstrates the continued expansion of our portfolio as we remain focussed on delivering inclusive, innovative developments in London.
“An important part of East London’s ship building history, we will transform the site from an underutilised car park into a brand new waterside neighbourhood comprising more than 850 homes, a primary school, community hub and the reimagined graving dock for the people of Tower Hamlets.
“We have worked closely and collaboratively with the Council throughout the pre-application process and look forward to engaging with the neighbouring community on our proposals next month.”
