Developer Watkin Jones’s Hove Gardens scheme will be built at Ellen Street next to Hove Station.
The scheme which includes 18,000 sq ft of offices and 4,000 sq ft of commercial and community space is the first major development approved in Brighton & Hove since the Green Party regained control of the council in July.
Watkin Jones plans to build, own and manage the scheme for a minimum of 30 years.
London-based Consolux is the MEP consultant and Iesis group structural engineer for the scheme
Subject to the signing of an S106 agreement, demolition of warehousing on the derelict brownfield site could start as early as November, with the doors opened to first residents in April 2023.
