West Midlands Combined Authority has given the project full business case approval so that tendering can now get underway on the new bus and tram interchange which forms a crucial part of the wider regeneration of Dudley town centre.
Built on the site of the existing bus station, it will link to the new Metro tram extension currently under construction by the Midland Metro Alliance between Wednesbury and Brierley Hill.
Work is expected start on site next February 2022 and be completed in 2023.
Bids will be evaluated on the basis of 55/35/10 price/quality/social value with the closing date for submissions on 4 June.
TfWM will hold a bidders briefing day at 11am on Thursday 13 May 2021 via MS Teams in place of the usual site visit due to current Covid-19 restrictions.
