During the past seven years at Countryside, Scott has overseen a period of significant growth at Countryside, including the Group’s IPO in February 2016 and the acquisition of Westleigh Homes in April 2018.
Prior to joining Countryside, he held several senior finance roles from 2010 until 2014 at J. Sainsbury Plc, including latterly as head of investor relations.
His joining date is still to be finalised with Barratt.
John Allan, Barratt chairman, said: “Mike has a deep understanding of the house building industry and we are delighted that he has agreed to bring his very relevant financial and operational expertise to Barratt. “
Jessica White will step down from the board at the end of June, with David Thomas, Barratt chief executive, who previously held the role of Barratt chief financial officer for six years until July 2015, assume temporary responsibility for finance.
