Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick and Doosan Babcock have been appointed to the new mechanical and pipework framework agreement, which will be worth £112m-£237m over the 18-year life of the programme.
It means that Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick has now secured spots on all three of the first sector integrated team framework awards. The others cover heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning; and electrical & instrumentation.
The key delivery partner mechanical and pipework package was awarded by the overarching Programme and Project Partners – a five-strong team of firms delivering the massive clean up.
The PPP partnership is made up of lot partners KBR (integration partner); Jacobs (design and engineering partner); Morgan Sindall Infrastructure (civils construction management partner) and Doosan Babcock (process construction management partner) and Sellafield as the fifth partner.
Will Smith, managing director of Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick, said: “Utilising our expert capabilities and collaborative delivery approach, Balfour Beatty Kilpatrick is perfectly positioned to deliver the latest mechanical and pipework framework at Sellafield.
“Having now been appointed to the third of Programme and Project Partners’ frameworks, we have cemented our status as a key delivery partner; through which we will continue to deliver a lasting positive legacy across the region.”
