The Enquirer understands that the firm’s East Midlands factory and construction sites were closed down on Wednesday.
Staff from a host of professions across the company suddenly took to LinkedIn to advertise themselves as “open to work”.
One said: “We were suddenly told on a teams call today to leave the factory and sites.”
Manchester based Urban Splash is a major player in the property and regeneration sector having developed more than 60 schemes across the country over the last 25 years building 5,000 new homes and 1.5m sq ft of workspace.
The demerged House by Urban Splash business is a modular house builder which saw the 1,000th module roll of its Derbyshire factory line last month.
A deal in 2019 saw Japan’s biggest house builder Sekisui House and Homes England invest £55m into Urban Splash’s house development business.
