The 40 storey tower is the second and final phase of the landmark Manchester project and will be delivered by Salboy’s dedicated construction partner Domis Construction.

The Deansgate tower job is another major project win for Domis which has developed over 2,500 homes across 10 development sites over the last five years.

Designed by Hodder + Partners, the project will comprise a five star 191-bed hotel, 181 serviced flats and amenity and leisure spaces for residents and guests.

The top of the tower will house a single penthouse split over two levels with terrace at each end

Initial works are expected to start in January 2023, just 12 months after the commencement of Phase 1, the 185,000 sq ft commercial element of the scheme, which is being built by Bowmer & Kirkland.

This 9-storey stepped building forms part of the podium to the east of the main tower. This will include rooftop bars with a large outdoor rooftop terrace.

The scheme in its entirety is expected to be completed in 2026.

Neville of developer Relentless said: “The Relentless team have been on this project for 15 years and we’ve never diluted our ambition on what has been an incredibly long journey to build this complex and challenging project.”

He thanked Salboy’s owners Simon Ismail and Betfred’s Fred Done for supporting the ambitious project.

Neville said: “Our aim with St Michael’s has always been to create a world-class destination in our city that celebrates our local passion, spirit and hospitality that delivers to a 5 star international standard.”

Ismail, managing director of Salboy, said: “Now it’s time for Salboy, Domis and Relentless to work together to make this development a reality and deliver a destination at the sort of international standards that all of Manchester can be proud of.”
