Inspectors issued three prohibition notices relating to specific activities on the site involving vehicles and plant machinery.

They were issued to EDF client body NNB GenCo HPC and contractors Bouygues and Laing O’Rourke Construction, the joint venture partners in BYLOR JV.

The notices were served as a result of inspections on the site on 18 November following the fatality of Jason Waring, 48, from Nottinghamshire, who died in a traffic incident involving a construction vehicle on Sunday 13 November.

The nuclear regulator said it was unable to provide further details about the notices, or about the ongoing investigation, because it remained a live inquiry.

ONR is working closely with Avon and Somerset Police who are currently leading the investigations on the site.
