Founded in Lincoln in 1999, Minster works for the Ministry of Defence resurfacing runways and airfields for the RAF as well as repairing roads across Lincolnshire, Shropshire, Cambridgeshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire and London.

The majority stake in Minister includes civil engineers Minster Surfacing and Alliance Recycling.

The deal will enable Breedon to grow its presence in the East of England and beyond, while also expanding its recycling capabilities and supporting Minster’s future ambitions.

Bruce Spencer-Knott, co-founder of Minster, will remain in position as the firm’s Managing Director and the business will be a distinct brand within Breedon.

“The immediate investment will allow us to add to our fleet of machinery to keep up with the demands of our clients.
