Up to 100 jobs at risk at M&E firm Integral UK

M&E specialist contractor Integral UK is to stop working for main contractors in a strategic move to focus efforts on working directly for clients.

As a result, Intergral UK’s Major Projects Division, which is understood to turnover around £80m, will be closed with up to 100 jobs now at risk as redundancy consultations get underway with staff.

The firm has committed to complete all existing jobs for main contractors around the country, helping to soften the impact on staff.

Integral is working across the UK with Kier, Sir Robert McAlpine, Galliford Try and Vinci/McAlpine JV IHP.

The change of strategy follows a review by managing director Peter Jones, who joined Intergal just over a year ago from rival M&E contractor NG Bailey.

In a statement to the Enquirer, Integral said: “Following a review, Integral is considering a proposal to change the business model for its Major Projects team.

“The proposed changes are designed to improve financial performance, increase opportunities for growth and build long-term relationships with clients.

“As these proposals may result in a number of redundancies across our Major Projects team we are entering into a consultation process.

“We are confident that the strength and resilience of our diversified business will enable us to continue to support our people during this uncertain time and deliver long-term value to our clients and shareholders.”
