The Langley Park brownfield site in a former industrial area has been vacant for years and is now set to be repurposed into a residential scheme of houses and apartments comprising 50% affordable homes.
A £40m deal has also been agreed between Countryside Partnerships and shared ownership investor Gresham House Residential Secure Income LP to deliver 167 of the homes as affordable housing through accessing government grant funding.
The shared ownership homes will boast private gardens/balconies, as well as being fitted with heat pumps to the apartments that will ensure the homes are built to an EPC A standard.
Darren Dancey, Managing Director of Countryside Partnerships West, said construction was set to begin later this year, with the first builds due to be completed in early 2025.
This latest approval marks a further positive step for Countryside Partnerships’ ambitious development plans in the region.
The developer recently celebrated the launch of two of its latest schemes, Lyneham Fields in Wiltshire, and Isleport Grove in Highbridge, and is set to open the doors to Strawberry Grange in Bridgwater this August.
