Firms readied for £750m Wales & Western railway deal

Network Rail has put firms on alert for an upcoming tender race for a Reactive and Minor Works framework renewal in the Wales & Western railway region.

The new £750m framework will cover both reactive / emergency works to Building and Civils assets and is expected go live by 1st April 2025.

It will run for an initial five-year period with scope for up to a further 3-year extension.

Network Rail aims to shortlist three bidders per lot


Lot 1– Civils RMW Western up to £262m.

Lot 2– Civils RMW Wales up to £150m.

Lot 3– Buildings RMW Western up to £225m.

Lot 4– Buildings RMW Wales up to £112m.

Under the planned procurement timetable applications will be open from 15 January – 19 February 2024.

Shortlisted firms will be invited to tender at the end of March with successful border notification due to be sent out in September 2024.
