The selected firm will be tasked with getting back on track the revised programme to build 32 new hospitals by 2030.

This will include bringing design, programme and project management and commercial expertise to develop a more standardised approach to design and delivery.

The PDP will also be expected to attract greater participation from suppliers in the health infrastructure market, as well as accelerating delivery to allow NHSE to meet the Government’s commitment to deliver the biggest hospital building programme in a generation.

The deal is expected to be worth £500m to £600m over the six-year contract duration, with a right to extend the term for up to a further four years.

Morag Stuart, chief programme officer of NHP, said: “We are delighted to announce the launch of the procurement of the Programme Delivery Parter with the publication of the contract notice and issue of the Selection Questionnaire Pack. This is a key step forward for the Programme and we look forward to working with the successful candidate to ensure we collaboratively deliver success”.

Natalie Forrest, Senior Responsible Officer of NHP, said: “The New Hospital Programme is transforming the way we deliver healthcare infrastructure for the NHS. The Programme Delivery Partner will be critical to the success of the programme. This is an exciting opportunity to build on the expert technical capability required to deliver such an important programme”.

Guidance and support for interested suppliers will be detailed within the Selection Questionnaire Pack including how to ask any questions and how to submit a response, all via the eProcurement Portal Atamis.
