HG Construction has been appointed as the main contractor on a £69m Build to Rent scheme in Leeds for McLaren Living and funding partner Heim Global Investor.

The new BeckYard development is located in the South Bank Regeneration area of the city centre and will transform a vacant former car park site

Designed by Carey Jones Chapman Tolcher (CJCT), the BtR scheme deliver 375 new homes comprising a mix of apartments. Amenities include residents’ lounges, shared workspaces, gym and events areas – with roof gardens on the first, ninth, and 14th floors.

Adam Quinn, CEO, HG Construction, said: “We are delighted that McLaren Living has chosen HG as their partner of choice for their BeckYard scheme in Leeds.

“This is our fourth scheme for the McLaren Group and will strengthen the collaborative relationship between our two companies. BeckYard is HG’s third project in the Leeds area and we are looking forward to further contributing to the city of Leeds and more specifically the South Bank area with this fantastic scheme.”

Oliver Westray, Development Director, McLaren Living, said: “This is a milestone moment for BeckYard and it’s great to be working with HG Construction to deliver such an exciting project, in the heart of one of the UK’s fastest growing cities. We are creating a new neighbourhood and providing high quality homes for a flourishing and dynamic city.”

BeckYard is expected to complete early in 2027.
