He will be replaced next month by Neil Jefferson, who has been Managing Director of the federation since early 2020.
Baseley said: “I am delighted that the Board has promoted Neil to be the new Chief Executive of HBF. I firmly believe he is the right person to lead the organisation for many years to come, and that now is the best time to make the transition such that HBF can best serve its members.
“I have been very impressed by how Neil has helped HBF navigate the many complicated issues we have faced since he joined just over four years ago, and I look forward to working with him and the team to ensure HBF continues to represent the industry effectively.”
Neil Jefferson joined HBF in January 2020 from NHBC, where he had worked for over 20 years and had risen to the position of Chief Operating Officer.
He said: “Being promoted to Chief Executive of the Home Builders Federation at such a key time for the industry presents an incredible opportunity.
“I am hugely grateful for the support I have received from my colleagues, the Board and the wider industry since joining HBF. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead as we look to navigate the many complex issues we face and support HBF members to deliver the homes the country needs.”
