Adrian, 42, has served as the Midlands firm’s technical director for several years. He has taken on the new role alongside his younger brother James Speller, 40, who became managing director in 2022.

The appointment marks a natural progression for Adrian, who has played a pivotal role in the firm’s leadership alongside James since his appointment to managing director in 2022 on the retirement of their father, co-founder Steve Speller.

Adrian’s promotion follows the retirement of the other joint founder Andy Metcalfe last year.

James said: “Adrian has played a fundamental role in managing our company for a number of years, and this appointment recognises the contributions he has made to the successful running of Speller Metcalfe.

“He is one of the most competent people I know – a well-respected and liked leader – and I’m delighted to be managing the future of our family business alongside him.”
