Proposals for the 1,300m² Acoustics Building have just been submitted for planning by the University.
The project will be built within Salford’s 29-acre Crescent Innovation area, which lies north of the university’s Peel Park campus.
If planning permission is granted, work is anticipated to start this summer and complete in spring 2027.
Morgan Sindall Construction was appointed through the North West Construction Hub Framework.
The new, all-electric building will include photovoltaic panels as part of its efficient building services design targeting a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
The Acoustics Building has been proposed by the Crescent partnership, comprising the University of Salford, Salford City Council and ECF – a joint venture between Homes England, Legal & General and Muse.
The Crescent partnership aim to bring together industry, education, and the local community by creating more than 3,000 homes, 1m sq ft of office, retail, and leisure space, a new multi-model transport hub.
