The move saves 100 jobs while Cardo has also taken over Breyer’s contract with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames for responsive repairs and maintenance to ensure services continue uninterrupted.
Lloyds Bank called in insolvency specialist RSM as administrator for 250-employee housing maintenance specialist Breyer earlier this month.
Glen Carter, partner at RSM UK and joint administrator, said: “We are pleased to have secured a sale of Breyer Group’s roofing division and in a separate transaction, the continuity of the company’s contract with the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames to Cardo.
“The transactions have preserved a significant number of jobs and allows services to certain clients to be maintained.”
Private equity-backed Welsh maintenance group Cardo has now made six acquisitions since it was also formed two years ago from social housing contractor LCB Group to support social housing providers with their maintenance, compliance, retrofit and decarbonisation needs.
