TCS has partnered with GMI Construction to secure approval for the new office on Whitehall Road will include No 1 Whitehall Riverside and the Wellington Place scheme.
The development forms part of TCS Whitehall Riverside scheme – 300,000 sq ft of offices, a 500 multi-storey car park and a significant public realm.
It will link the already established walk way and iconic pedestrian bridge with Whitehall Riverside canal path, a popular cyclist and pedestrian route to the city.
The office building has been designed by architect Cartwright Pickard and was granted just days before the new community infrastructure levy was announced, which is now in effect.
TCS hopes to start work on the scheme later this year subject to part pre-let to which negations are in hand.
This news comes only a week after TCS secured two deals to bring new tenants to Leeds Merrion Centre, where it will invest £20m overhauling the 1960s Merrion House.
Shepherd Construction is delivering the Merrion House job, which will include building a 6-storey extension to the building .
