The Battersea Power Station Development Company Ltd said the £9.15 an hour minimum rate will be recognised across phase 2 and 3 of the scheme which have a development value of £1.5bn.
The developer signed the agreement with construction union UCATT which has a long running campaign to ensure that all construction workers in the capital are paid the London Living Wage.
Jerry Swain, Regional Secretary for London and the South East, said: “I am delighted with agreement it shows what can be achieved by working together. This commitment was been achieved following many months of the client and UCATT working together.
“The client has been very supportive of the London Living Wage, they along with ourselves recognise that a living wage as a minimum rate of pay is a key component to establishing a loyal and committed workforce”
The London Living Wage of £9.15 an hour is significantly above the lowest rate of the Construction Industry Joint Council agreement where labourers and general operatives are paid just £8.52 an hour.
Swain, added: “This agreement is good news for London construction workers, especially those working on the site from the local community, who are now guaranteed being paid wages they can live on.”
UCATT are currently in the process of lobbying other major construction clients to ensure that the London Living Wage is paid on an increased number of major sites throughout the capital.
