The damage is understood to have been caused by contractors working near Westfield shopping centre extension in west London.

Masonry fell on the track outside Shepherd’s Bush station forcing the closure of the line between Marble Arch and White City.

Transport for London ordered the line to be closed at 8pm and it reopened at 9.30pm once debris was cleared from the tracks.
