The firm is reinforcing its management team as part of a plan to double in size to £2bn turnover by 2025.
Alex Jones joins as group head of BIM and digital construction after working at Interserve Construction as national BIM and digital construction manager.
He will ensure that BIM is strategically embedded across the Murphy business, working with the existing in-house BIM team from Murphy’s Cannock office.
He also previously worked at Mabey Bridge, Vico Software and Carillion.
The new Murphy group head of estimating is now Gary Broadley, who joins from MWH Treatment, where he was head of estimating and procurement, working with existing Murphy clients including Thames Water and United Utilities.
Broadley has also has worked across the water, rail and marine sectors at Balfour Beatty, Morgan Sindall and AMEC.
He will be based at the Murphy office in Golborne and will report to Chris Green, who himself joins Murphy as new commercial director from Capita, where he was a director of the property and infrastructure division
