The demolition firm established in 1983 will benefit from M O’Brien Plant Hire’s modern fleet of demolition equipment.

Former J Mould (Reading) demolition manager Colin Prendergast has joined Lowery as a director strengthening the management team.

The £30m turnover St Albans-based M O’Brien Group has been steadily expanding and bought Bedfordshire sand and gravel supplier LB Silica Sand at the turn of the year.

Michael O’Brien, Group Managing director, said:  “Having been involved with many demolition projects a few years before starting M O’Brien Plant hire, it’s something I have wanted to do for quite a few years.

“It has been worth the wait for the right opportunity and the right management team and I believe that the plan we have laid out will be very successful.
