BAM has now been confirmed main contractor after carrying-out enabling works at the Cathays Campus site.

The Centre for Student Life is part of the university’s £600m campus upgrade.

It will provide a new home for student support services and offer additional social study spaces, consultation rooms, a 550-seat auditorium and quiet contemplation spaces.

Construction work is due to start later this year and be completed in 2020.

Craig Allen, BAM Construction Director, said: “BAM has a long and productive partnership with Cardiff University, having previously delivered two world class buildings for them.”

The building was designed by architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.
