Work to the £18m swimming pool complex is expected to start in May.

The job involves building a 25m eight lane competition swimming pool and gallery for 250 spectators.

Another 20m training pool with underwater movable floor will also be built in the complex alongside a wet-side change area with adjoining health suite.

Dry-side facilities will include a gym with 80 stations, strength and conditioning studio, purpose built aerobics studio, regional standard eight badminton court sports hall and two squash courts.

Outdoor facilities will include an 11 a side synthetic pitch, three 5 a side 3G synthetic pitches, a 7 a side 3G synthetic pitch and an athletics track upgrade.
