The Platinum Medical Centre is almost a third the size of the existing hospital and will become the largest outpatient centre in the UK private healthcare sector.

Balfour will convert an existing office building into a five-storey  medical facility with four new operating theatres, two MRI scanners CT and PET CT scanners along with full X-ray and ultrasound diagnostic facilities.

The building will include a major cancer unit and 50 consulting rooms covering 4,800sq m.

The construction work will include the installation of five new lifts, extensive new services and specialist equipment as well as internal structural alterations.

Works are scheduled for completion in mid 2011.
