The acquisition strengthens BCS Group’s signs and supplies division enabling it to them to expand its safety and hire offering into Scotland.

Founded in 1882, Fleming & Co. is primarily associated with the supply of traffic management and site supplies and will complement BCS Group, a leading supplier of safety and construction products.

James Mulchinock, General Manager at BCS Group, which is part of the Barhale Group, said that the acquisition would allow the business to bring its signs manufacturing in-house, reducing the need to rely on third parties.

H e added: It also strategically fits well with our existing BCS Group offering by significantly widening our footprint.

“The intention is to invest in the business, with innovative new stock lines and an increased stock holding, extending the supply chain and a full product catalogue.

“Having a base on the doorstep of some of our key clients in Scotland will enable us to grow our customer base across the region.”

To help ensure the integration of Fleming & Co and the BCS Group in Scotland, Mark McKeown has joined the business as account manager for the region.

He was previously at building supplies merchant Parkers, part of the Rexel Group.
