Preferred bidder Riverlinx – a joint venture between BAM, Ferrovial and Korean contractor SK Engineering – each took a share of the £1bn Silvertown tunnel, with BAM rising to the top of the league on the strength of three other smaller contract wins.
In the annualised league ranking, information specialist Glenigan, keeps Kier ahead of the field with an estimated £3bn of orders secured in the last 12 months. Its nearest rival Morgan Sindall has secured an estimated £2.1bn.

Among the other big value wins last month, Sir Robert McAlpine secured the £80m Tower Works project in Leeds for joint clients, Richardson and Cedar (Maple Oak).
Morgan Sindall maintained its winning streak of school projects with a £64m order to build schools in Prestwick and Maybole in Scotland for South Ayrshire Council.
Civils firm JN Bentley secured a £40m flood defence scheme in Yarmouth, while south east builder Ardmore Contraction secured an £85m scheme to redevelop Southwark Fire Station into a major mixed-use development which has been branded as Brigade Court.
