The builder has been allocated £17m by the Homes and Communities Agency to build nearly 1,500 homes, which will then be handed over to its housing association partner.
It ranks as the third private house builder to sign an AHP funding contract. Late last month, Esh subsidiary Dunelm Acorn Homes struck a £8.6m deal to build 500 homes in North East Yorkshire and Humber area. While Jessup Brothers has secured £3.6m to build 197 homes in the Midlands.
Work on these projects will start in January, allowing 75% of the funding to be released upfront as a bonus for breaking ground before April.
Around 6% of the available £1.8 billion funding has been allocated to private developers under the affordable housing programme.
The latest registered providers to signed contracts include Bromford Housing Association – £12.5m, Family Mosaic – £32m, Tees Valley HA – £30m (Spirit Partnership) and WM Housing – £14m.
