Cambell is leaving Severfield after joining a year ago to take up the role of Van Elle chief financial officer early next year.
Aged 44, Campbell will replace Paul Pearson, who leaves the business at the end of October.
His appointment follows a series of senior management changes across the business. Cambell joins chief executive Mark Cutler’s leadership team to drive forward Van Elle’s strategy.
Campbell qualified as a chartered accountant in 2000 and has subsequently spent his career in senior finance functions across a range of industrial businesses, including latterly as group chief financial officer at Australian engineering services business Engenco.
Before that he spent four years at Shepherd Group-owned Portakabin.
Adrian Barden, chairman of Van Elle, said: “Graeme is a high calibre appointment with a proven track record across a range of senior finance functions including at public companies.
