Caledonian has supported the client’s team through the design and planning process and will now deliver the new, three-storey building to replace the derelict Waterlow Unit on the Highgate Hill side of the site.
Using an offsite volumetric solution means the existing Whittington Education Centre can continue to operate as usual until the new facility is ready in early 2020.
Paul Lang, Chief Executive Officer of Caledonian said: “Our design and commercial teams have been working closely with the Trust over the last few months to meet the client’s objectives and secure this exciting new project.
“Our modular solution will create a modern, efficient and fit-for-purpose education facility in exceptionally quick timescales with minimal disruption to the ongoing operation of the hospital site.”
With over 85% of the building work completed at Caledonian’s 40-acre Newark production facility the offsite manufactured solution will deliver a high quality three storey-building with 80% less site labour, zero waste to landfill and will be completed 50% quicker than a conventional build.
