The proposals, which have been put forward by Bruntwood Works and Trafford Council, include up to 750 homes, 200,000 sq ft of offices,  a primary school, hotel and public realm.

Trafford Bruntwood joint venture hopes to gain outline planning this Spring for the Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios designed redevelopment.

The project is part of the council’s wider Civic Quarter masterplan, which covers a 120-acre site that includes the town hall, Lancashire Cricket Club and old Kellogg’s site.

There is also the potential for a new public piazza and ‘processional route’ linking Lancashire Cricket Club with Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium.
