The Angel Gardens scheme is currently being completed by Caddick Construction for developer and sister company Moda Living.

Cladding subcontractor Structal UK is currently carrying out extensive checks on all panels and is designing ‘a permanent means of additional support to ensure no further displacement of panels under storm conditions.’

A spokesperson for Structal UK (on behalf of Rinaldi-Structal- façade system supplier on the project) added: “In agreement with the client, principal contractor and local authority a rolling programme of remedial works will be implemented to install these elements as soon as possible.”

Structal UK and engineering consultant BuroHappold stressed that the facade specifications complied with all relevant British and European standards and the system was extensively laboratory tested,

A spokesperson for BuroHappold said: “The project team (including the construction manager, architect, engineer and façade contractor) are currently investigating the cause of the incident and this will inform the full extent of any remedial work required to ensure the safety of the particular elements of the building.”
