The Essex Construction Framework 2 (ECF2) comes into force next month replacing the existing deal which has been responsible for £200m of work over the last four years.
The council said it has “sought to minimise the exposure of the new framework to contractor failure by increasing the number of contractors from five contractors under the existing framework to eight under ECF2.”
Lakehouse Contracts – which ceased trading last year – was among the winners of the original deal.
More than 40 contractors applied for places on the ECF2 which will last for the next four years and be available to other contracting bodies to use.
