The move increases the firm’s offsite capacity to over 11,000sqm of state-of-the-art fabrication floorspace and associated welfare facilities.
The investment helps to further strengthen Alternative Heat’s, turnkey design and fabrication offering for its range of shell and core MEP prefab solutions which includes: prefabricated MEP pod solutions; prefabricated MEP lateral and horizontal services modules; and skid mounted and packaged plant rooms.
Business Development Manager, Fergal Hegarty said: ‘’We have invested strongly in our teams and fabrication facilities over the last few years, with a focus on design innovation and scalability of our Offsite MEP Solutions.
“As modern methods of construction continue to come to the fore, we recognise the need within the construction industry for tried and tested supply chains, with the ability to offer turnkey design and build solutions and the capacity to deliver projects concurrently and at scale.’’
The timing of Alternative Heat’s investment is significant as the UK Government launches ‘Project Speed’, with the aim to accelerate the building of schools, hospitals and prisons.
Hegarty added: “It is widely recognised that early adoption of design lead, innovative, offsite solutions will play a key role in delivering these objectives.
“The recent, ongoing Covid-19 pandemic has further highlighted the need to embrace new methods of construction, delivered under quality controlled, safe working conditions.”
