Mabey Hire is currently supplying and installing ten modular bridges to provide the project with safe access to commence construction of the railway.
This is a vital part of the early enabling works which allows construction vehicles to cross rivers, roads and underground assets and buried services.
The temporary bridges are manufactured by supply chain partner Mabey Bridge at its Gloucestershire manufacturing facility.
The Mabey Hire team have begun work to install the first bridge on the HS2 route in Kenilworth, Warwickshire.
To support HS2’s JV project design and delivery teams, Mabey Hire will call on its 70-strong temporary works engineering team; and its dedicated HS2 project delivery team based in Central Birmingham at the heart of the project.
Gordon MacDonald, Chief Executive of Mabey Hire, said: “We are delighted to have been involved in this project from the start and are proud to have been able to support HS2 through early consultant and contractor engagement.
“As the project progresses, we remain committed to supporting HS2 in the long-term and look forward to harnessing the full depth and breadth of our expertise to ensure that HS2 achieves its goals.”
