Hounslow Council refused planning for social housing landlord L&Q’s 441-flat scheme in Brentford back in 2018.
The proposed cluster of buildings ranging from 12-18 storeys in height was later called in by London Mayor Sadiq Khan who reversed the decision and approved the plans.
Now the housing secretary has backed the Mayor’s decision after a full planning enquiry.
The redevelopment of the former Citroen car dealership on Capital Interchange Way with 218 genuinely affordable homes was deemed to outweigh concerns about its minimal impact to views from Kew.
